Before chosing a lawyer, it is important to analyse your financial situation as added financial stress will not help the transition and seperation process. In the case that your finances are limited, assistance is provided via the State. There exists a Consultation Certificate which you can register for, this requires you to put your bank account details together with your salary information, showing your need for legal assistance. This should be applied for before you go to a Lawyer for a first consultation. The lawyer will be paid via the state and it ends up being "ProBono" as we would say in English. You mostly will receive this certficate if you are the stay-at-home parent, with the children residing with you, however it is also possible for the stay-away-parent if there is enough proof of a lack of savings and high individual costs.
