Protecting your personal data is important to me. This Privacy Policy explains what personal data may be processed when you visit separatedwithkids.com, contact me, or use services linked or embedded on this website.
I aim to collect and process only the information reasonably necessary to operate this website, respond to enquiries and provide my consultation services.

The person responsible for processing personal data in connection with this website is:
Dr. Karthik Poovendran

2. General Information About Data Processing
Personal data means information relating to an identified or identifiable natural person. This can include, for example, your name, email address, IP address, information contained in an enquiry or technical information generated when you visit a website.
Personal data is processed only where there is an appropriate legal basis under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
Depending on the circumstances, processing may in particular be based on:
your consent pursuant to Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR;
processing necessary to take steps at your request before entering into a contract or to perform a contract pursuant to Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR;
compliance with a legal obligation pursuant to Art. 6(1)(c) GDPR; or
legitimate interests pursuant to Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR, for example the secure and reliable operation of this website and communication with visitors.
3. Hosting and Google Sites
This website is created and hosted using Google Sites, a service provided by Google.
When you visit this website, Google may process technical information required to deliver and secure the website. Depending on your device and browser configuration, this may include information such as:
IP address;
browser and device information;
operating system;
date and time of access;
pages or resources accessed;
referring website; and
technical diagnostic and security information.
This processing is necessary for the technical provision, stability and security of the website.
Google may also use cookies or similar technologies in connection with Google Sites. Google displays its own cookie information on Google Sites and provides further information about its data-processing practices in the Google Privacy Policy.
4. Cookies and Similar Technologies
This website and the Google services integrated into it may use cookies and similar technologies.
Some technologies may be necessary for the basic operation, security or functionality of the website. Other technologies may be used for analytics or other purposes.
Where consent is legally required for storing information on your device or accessing information already stored on your device, such processing should take place on the basis of your consent in accordance with Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR and §25 TDDDG.
You can also manage or delete cookies through your browser settings. Disabling certain cookies may affect the functionality of the website or embedded Google services.
5. Website Traffic and Analytics
I currently do not operate a separate Google Analytics property for this website.
However, because the website is hosted using Google Sites, Google may process technical and usage information as part of providing, securing and operating its services. Google Sites also displays information to visitors concerning the use of cookies and traffic analysis.
For further information about Google's processing of personal data, please refer to Google's Privacy Policy and its information regarding cookies and privacy controls.
6. Contact by Email
You can contact me directly using the email address provided on this website.
If you contact me by email, I process the information you provide, which may include:
your name;
your email address;
the content of your message; and
any other information you voluntarily provide.
The information is used to respond to your enquiry and, where applicable, to arrange or provide consultation services.
Where your enquiry concerns a possible or existing consultation relationship, processing is generally based on Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR. For other enquiries, processing may be based on my legitimate interest in responding to communications pursuant to Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR.
Please avoid sending particularly sensitive or confidential information by ordinary email unless it is necessary. Ordinary email communication cannot be guaranteed to be completely secure.
7. Google Calendar Appointment Scheduling
This website provides access to a Google Calendar appointment scheduling service that allows you to select and book a consultation appointment.
When you open or use the appointment scheduling service, information may be transmitted to and processed by Google. Depending on how you use the service, this may include technical information as well as information you provide when making an appointment, such as your name, email address, selected appointment time and other booking information.
The purpose of this processing is to allow you to arrange a consultation appointment.
Where you use the appointment service to request a consultation, the processing of the information required to manage the appointment is generally based on Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR.
Google's own processing of information is additionally governed by Google's applicable privacy terms.
8. Embedded YouTube Content
This website may contain videos embedded from YouTube, a service operated by Google.
When an embedded YouTube video or related YouTube content is loaded, your browser may establish a connection with Google or YouTube servers. Technical information such as your IP address, browser information and information about the page you are visiting may consequently be transmitted to Google.
If you are logged into a Google or YouTube account, Google may be able to associate your interaction with that account in accordance with Google's own privacy practices.
Where legally required, non-essential processing connected with embedded content should only occur after the appropriate consent has been obtained.
Further information about YouTube and Google's processing of personal data is available through the Google Privacy Policy.
9. External Links
This website may contain links to external websites or services.
When you follow an external link, you leave separatedwithkids.com. The operator of the external website is responsible for the processing of personal data on that website.
This includes, for example, external Google services or other websites linked from articles or informational content.
10. Disclosure of Personal Data
I do not sell personal data.
Personal data may, however, be processed by service providers that are necessary for operating the website or providing the services requested by you.
This currently includes in particular Google in connection with services such as:

Personal data may also be disclosed where I am legally required to do so or where disclosure is necessary for the establishment, exercise or defence of legal claims.
11. Processing Outside the European Economic Area
Some service providers used on this website are internationally operating companies.
In connection with Google services, personal data may therefore be processed in or transferred to countries outside Germany or the European Economic Area.
Where legally required, such transfers are made using recognised safeguards under applicable data-protection law, such as an adequacy decision, the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework where applicable, or Standard Contractual Clauses.
Further information regarding international data transfers is available through Google's privacy information.
12. Storage and Deletion
Personal data is stored only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected.
Information relating to enquiries will normally be deleted when it is no longer required, unless further storage is necessary because of contractual, tax, commercial, accounting or other statutory retention requirements or for the establishment, exercise or defence of legal claims.
Where third-party services such as Google process information independently, their own retention rules may also apply.
13. Your Rights Under the GDPR
Where the relevant legal requirements are met, you have rights concerning your personal data, including the right to:
obtain information about whether and how your personal data is processed;
obtain access to your personal data;
request correction of inaccurate personal data;
request deletion of personal data;

I may request reasonable information to verify your identity before responding to a data-protection request.
14. Right to Object – Art. 21 GDPR
Where personal data is processed on the basis of legitimate interests pursuant to Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR, you have the right, on grounds relating to your particular situation, to object to that processing in accordance with Art. 21 GDPR.
Where personal data is processed for direct marketing purposes, you have the right to object to such processing at any time.
15. Right to Lodge a Complaint
You have the right to lodge a complaint with a competent data-protection supervisory authority if you believe that the processing of your personal data infringes applicable data-protection law.
As the website operator is based in Baden-Württemberg, the relevant supervisory authority is generally:
The State Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information Baden-Württemberg
(Landesbeauftragter für den Datenschutz und die Informationsfreiheit Baden-Württemberg – LfDI BW)
You may also contact another competent supervisory authority in accordance with the GDPR.
16. Security
This website is accessed using encrypted HTTPS connections.
I take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal data. Nevertheless, no method of data transmission over the internet can guarantee absolute security.
Visitors are therefore encouraged not to send unnecessary confidential or highly sensitive personal information through unsecured communication channels.
17. Children
The services offered through this website are directed primarily at parents and adults dealing with separation, co-parenting and family arrangements, rather than directly at children.
Please do not submit personal information about a child unless it is reasonably necessary for the purpose of your enquiry or consultation.
Where information concerning children is provided during a consultation or enquiry, I treat such information with particular care and only process it where reasonably necessary for the relevant purpose.
18. No Sale of Personal Data or Targeted Advertising
I do not sell visitors' personal data.
